Blooming mimosa and Mediterranean breeze – a place for endless experiences.

When you combine the historic charm of Provence with Mediterranean views and world-class activities, you get a lifestyle like no other. We met two of the &Hamlet owners of the beautiful Villa Cabris on the French Riviera, who shared their highlights, favorite local spots, and reflections on co-owning a dream home in the South of France.
Weddings and Pool Party
- We have to start with the wedding, they laugh.
The family gathered 95 guests at the villa the day before the ceremony. They hosted a “pool party” in the garden, complete with a generous buffet, a bar set up in the summer kitchen, music, dancing - and children playing by the pool.
- It never felt crowded, even with nearly 100 people. Honestly, we could’ve hosted three times as many!
The house has set the scene for engagements and countless special memories - and another wedding is already planned for 2026.
- Villa Cabris is where we celebrate life’s big moments.
Mimosa, Olives & Local Luxury
The area surrounding the villa is rich in scent and history. From the garden, the view stretches across a valley that turns golden in winter with blooming mimosa - a flower deeply tied to the famous perfume production of nearby Grasse.
- When the mimosa blooms in February, it feels like early summer in Norway - sunny and 20 degrees.
The owners also produce their own olive oil from 50 old olive trees on the lush estate.
- The first harvest had a spicy, chili-like finish. The next was mild. The taste changes every year - and that’s what makes it so special.
The olives are pressed at a local mill in nearby Speracedes, and each tree is protected and registered with the local municipality.
"When we previously owned a home in France 100% ourselves, I managed everything - rentals, contracts, repairs. Now I don’t have to think about any of it. It’s a huge relief."
Cycling, Sailing & Road Trips
The activity level is high - and the variation enormous.
- When we bought, I knew I had to get a bike and a boat. The region is ideal for cycling - flatlands, climbs, coastlines and mountains. And we got an 18-foot catamaran on a trailer!
It takes just 25 minutes to bring the boat from storage to the sea, where they launch from a municipal sailing club with affordable access. Some days they combine sailing with jet skiing - or paddle through Europe’s answer to the Grand Canyon: Gorge du Verdon.
- We’ve gone on river expeditions across Provence - sometimes paddling so far we had to be picked up by sending our GPS coordinates!
Local Treasures & Cultural Highlights
Cabris - with a clearly pronounced ´S´, as they say in Provençal - is a lively village, with year-round inhabitants, and an authentic French spirit.
- We’re secretly glad no famous painter lived here - it keeps the tourist crowds away, they smile. But Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, author of The Little Prince, actually lived in Cabris. Camus and Sartre also had ties to the village.
The views from the local restaurants are spectacular, and the variety is impressive - from Michelin-starred dining in Grasse, to 21 variations of mussels served on a cozy piazza in the heart of Cabris.
- My favorite? The mussels with mustard sauce… or maybe the tahin. I can never decide.
"The best part? Waking up, getting fresh bread from the village, and sitting down on the terrace - just being."

Shared Ownership – Simple and Seamless
While the idea of co-ownership can sound complex, the experience is anything but.
- When we previously owned a home in France 100% ourselves, I managed everything - rentals, contracts, repairs. Now I don’t have to think about any of it. It’s a huge relief.
The &Hamlet model offers 45 days of usage per year - far more than they are able to use.
- It’s nice to know the house isn’t sitting empty. And the calendar has always been flexible - we’ve always gotten the dates we wanted.

Everyday Life and Adventure in Sweet Harmony
- The best part? Waking up, getting fresh bread from the village, and sitting down on the terrace - just being.
Everything is close at hand: art museums, antique markets, wine trails, mountain hikes, beach life, even skiing. But also peace and calm.
- You choose how much you want to engage. When you want peace and quiet, it’s here. When you want company, it’s just around the corner.
And it is the sum of all this - and the possibility to share it all - that makes the ownership so unique.
